Marshwood Center

This is our first day here, but I am very impressed. The place is so clean and all the people are so helpful. My wife may be here for a while so I am very optimistic and happy so far. My wife stayed here for a couple months and every day that I went in I was happy that I chose this place for her final days. Everyone is so caring and loving. It’s a great atmosphere. I am so thankful for how they treated both myself and my wife and towards the end, I got Beacon hospice involved And that was another decision. That was the best one that I ever could’ve made everyone that helped us during Sandra‘s last days was just wonderful and treated us like family. I am so happy that places like Marshwood are there for us and everyone that works there works like they really care about the people that are there

Great nursing facility, great leadership, seasoned and competent nurses, but most especially patient care is the number one goal. Your family and loved ones are treated with love, compassion and respect.

I’m a new visitor to the community, I’m always greeted with a smile and a hello. The facility is clean and there always seems to be activities in progress. I enjoy every visit.

I hate only giving 4 stars but there are a couple areas that need improvement. First let me say that I have been traveling from Portland to Lewiston to visit my sister and at first I thought this would never work out because it was a 45 minute drive. I was wrong! (don't tell anyone) While the drive might be a bit much at times, to see the smile on my sister's face is worth every minute of it. The staff has been and continues to be compassionate , understanding, helpful and attentive. It's true that these workers have a lot to do in the course of a day, they are always willing to help when asked. Even the kitchen staff who you never really see! I watch how they interact with the patients when they sit outside the kitchen. The Patients are always treated to a smile and a friendly "what can I do for you". My sister is on the Franklin wing and I cannot say enough about the staff there. Most important is my sister is happy and that's the true test of any nursing home or rehab center. The only concerns I have are the building really needs upgrades in certain areas such as electrical, and there needs to be a better phone answering system where a phone is manned at all times. Sometimes it seems impossible to contact anyone, especially on the weekend. Thank you Marshwood Center for making my sister smile as she ends her journey and for making me feel secure that she is safe.

Wonderful facility, clean, no odors. My Dad said “I’m happy here, they treat me wonderfully” said the food was “ very good”. Attentive staff & dedicated rehab staff (PT/OT). Would definitely recommend.
